Spring cleaning comes every year, whether we like it or not. People get rid of items that they do not like, do not use, or things that are ‘in bad shape’. That means that, this time every year, hundreds of people throw away promotional mugs. How can you prevent this? Well, there is no changing the fact that spring cleaning happens. I know a way, however, that will prevent your mug from being the one in the trash. Think quality mugs with nicely-done designs. Nothing flashy or gaudy, just rustic and simple. Quality Counts In Promotions

Yep, that’s what I said. I know it seems “corny” and sounds like one of those statements you might hear on a homemade TV commercial… but it really does make a difference!

A friend of mine (yes, I have some friends) has a local business which provides outdoor fun devices (like bicycles, scooters, ATVs, and such). They have this cool little motorized bicycle, called a Whizzer. The Whizzer Motorbike is a high quality motorized bicycle that is fully supported via a parts supply system and authorized service by your local Whizzer Dealer.

You might compare this to the lower quality, but still usable, bicycle engine kits that come in a box to be installed yourself on a standard type bicycle. The difference is like night and day, and the quality (or lack thereof) shows.

Many people would enjoy saving hundreds of dollars on the cheaper version, but consider how many growls (and maybe a curse word or two) will be uttered for years to come because of the quality difference between these two products.

Now, consider your name being emblazoned upon the face of the product. This product is seen (and used) each and every day. Your business name is associated with the quality level of this product each and every day. The payback is so great it is almost incalculable.

No matter where you live in the northern hemisphere…when it hits 23 degrees in Georgia, it has to be cold where you are! And what warms you up better than coffee? Hot chocolate, soup, ciders…they are all warm, but there is something else in common…the drinkware. MUGS!!! And guess what? Mugs make good promotions!

Promotions help any business, right? And people use mugs this time of the year, right? So…? See where I’m going? Promotional mugs make pretty good sense to me. Since theye are many kinds, only funds can limit what you can get! Stoneware, ceramic…they can be a businessman’s friend when it comes to getting the word out!

The advertising medallions on our custom stoneware mugs are works of art unto themselves. From a vector image, a ‘reverse plaque’ is made. That is to say, the image is rendered in black-and-white, with the black parts being cut out and filled in with glaze. These small crests can pack quite a punch! Details can be rendered not only well, but the glaze seems go give a delightful shading.

The 22nd of September marks the first day of Autumn. What do people like to receive in autumn? Well…for our area it is cool weather (you know…70s ). Along with cooling weather comes the cravings for warm drinks like coffee, hot tea, and spiced cider. Since it is a tad hard to use a liquid as a promotional item, lets look at what it is held in. A mug, right? Have we not had this conversation before? Mugs are AMAZING promotions, especially our handmade stoneware mugs! Rustic colors that match the season are paired with a warm clay medallion for personalization.

Why Spend More?

Some people will naturally look at the mugs we offer and think “I can get a better price with those regular ones”. Logically, no you can’t. I’ll explain what I mean .

Okay, what happens when you drop a cheap mug? Mug shrapnel everywhere, that’s what! The custom mugs we offer act like leaded glass when dropped…they hit the ground whole! Now imagine the trouble and price saved since there are no replacements needed!

With coffee in a cheap mug…it is hot for all of 5 minutes…not good for most people. A stoneware mug is thick, thus offering more insulation. If you want price, think about the energy needed to microwave a cup of coffee or the resources wasted with a fresh cup!

Nice, pottery mugs are a wonderful thing…and now you know a bit about why you would want to spend more on them! Emotions don’t rule us all…but logic is hard to argue!

Stoneware Mugs – An American Classic

Today I happened upon the web-home of Bennington Potters providing American Stoneware Pottery From Vermont. This looks like a neat operation and they appear to provide some great looking pottery products, produced the “old-fashion way”… by hand.

I navigated into their store and located their selection of hand made stoneware mugs and soup mugs… nice collection. These are really like the hand made “mass produced” mugs, if there is such a thing. For use as everyday dishes (and by the “end-user”) I think these stoneware products would be great, though I personally have not used any of these particular mugs from this pottery.

As I looked over the collection I could not help but consider the differences in the hand-made stoneware mugs offered at our custom mugs site and these mugs. Our mugs are specifically designed to deliver that nice quality mug into the hands of a current or future customer of a business which advertises on the mug. The hand made mugs are wonderful pieces of art, but with the custom promotional added value… wow, what a combination!

Well…you can tell from my avatar that coffee is important. Since Americans drink on average around two cups of coffee a day…I do not think that I am alone. Imagine if someone’s favorite mug was also a promotional tool your advertising medallion on it. Not only would the customer see your business advertisement every day, but friends that come over for coffee or co-workers at the office can also be influenced by the mug’s advertisement. Think of the possibilities! A long life on a stoneware pottery mug due to quality can only extend the life of your promotional advertisement.

Consider this: $1000 well spent vs. $500 wasted — well spent wins every time! (Think Quality)
